How expensive is it to start scrap booking?

I recently got the book “Scrap-booking for Dummies”, but I am not sure how much all of the material is for one album. I want to make an album for my daughter’s first year of life. How much would it approximately cost to start one or two albums?

I scrapbook and have been doing so for about 3 years. I got into it because my step mother started selling creative memory scrap booking supplies.So i started scrap booking and have done about 6 albums and am currently working on two more. So honestly my step mother supplies me with everything I want and need. But creative memory scrapbooks are kind of expensive in my opinion. I think to do one album would run you about $200.00 if you bought all your supplies from CM. I have bought some of my own supplies on the cheap. Wal-Mart,K-Mart,Dollar Store, Target and even the Dollar Tree carry scrapbook supplies. I have bought quite a bit of paper and stuff on e-bay. Once you get paper trimmers and scissors and punch outs and tape and pens and all that stuff then you only need an album,paper,pictures and your imagination to create an awesome scrapbook.
